Independent Registered Voters thank U.S. Congressman For Making Stand On Immigration at Capitol Arrests

Yesterday, an Immigration Reform rally ended in arrests in front of U.S. Capitol. Of those Civil Disobedience arrests, the following Democratic Congressmen were arrested:

Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ)

Rep. John Lewis (D-GA)

Joe Crowley (D-NY)

Keith Ellison (D-MN)

Al Green (D-TX)

Luis Guiterrez (D-IL)

Charlie Rangel (D-NY)

Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)

But where are the Republican Congressman who have in the past stated they were in favor of immigration reform? Where is (R-FL) Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart? Where is (R-FL) Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen? Where is their fervor at for those who do not benefit from privileged Cuban amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act? Are they comfortable where they are at? I for one supported Elián González staying in our Nation, but I don't see the same passionate affinity and reciprocity from them in light of the real comprehensive immigration reform hurdle that will take place in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. And it is necessary for Republican representative leadership considering the Democratic-controlled Senate passed a bipartisan CIR vote. Where is the Republican bipartisanship leadership from the likes of Representatives Balart and Lehtinen we saw from Republican Sens. John McCain, Jeff Flake and Rubio?

But we need need to hurry because there are thieves in the temple right now.  We are witnessing extreme pseudo Dream Act activists who have unreasonable anarchist open border views and are intent on hijacking progress of CIR. They are essentially stealing and trying to rebrand the DREAM Act and Immigration under the guise of claiming to be for immigration reform. DreamActivist.org is running a financial scam in the name of "legal coyote" work even though the FBI says there is no such thing. One of the lawyers guiding this extremist group is related to the Mitt Romney family and we are concerned about his agenda.

Let me be clear: Founders of the DreamActivist LLC and the National Immigrant Youth Alliance are on the record for not supporting legal immigration reform in 2013. See their comments here and here. Iranian immigrant via Mohammad Abdollahi, mistakenly believes he has agency to speak on behalf of the Mexican American community where he believes it is more important to protest Democratic representative offices rather than the Tea Party Republican obstructionists. But should it be surprising to us considering their lawyer is related to the Romney family? Same with Prerna Lal who is a Fijian immigrant who also mistakenly believes she has agency to speak on behalf of Mexican Americans. Immigration directly affects the Mexican American community and we repudiate their unreasonable views to support open borders, exhausting detention centers and wasting tax payer monies. Indeed the naive law school graduate Prerna Lal wrote in the Aerogram dated July 2013: "I mean no offense and no judgment to those whose lives and livelihoods depend on it, but I cannot, in good conscience, get a green card predicated on building walls across migrant communities."

To my knowledge the United States is not building walls in Fiji -- thus she has no agency to speak on matters as it relates to bordering states to Mexico when she is living in Washington D.C. And even though I recognize we have achieved operational goals fulfilling the Secure Fence Act under the Bush administration, we may have to do a little more compromising save the 11 million undocumented we are trying to bring out of the shadows of society. The majority of the 11 million who are affected are my people -- not hers.

Prerna Lal of DreamActivist.org criticized yesterday's Capitol Immigration arrests deeming it mere political theater.

I disagree.

Our United States politicians took time to make their stand with regard to immigration via healthy civil disobedience. She stated:

It appears the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing as we see some of Prerna and Mohammad's supporters coming out of the thick claiming the organizers of Dream 30 were part of the immigration reform arrests at the Capitol. But the immediate past President of AILA via David Leopold holds their supporter accountable for spreading misinformation and said:

Richard, Point of correction. These congresspersons did not protest in support of the so-called DREAM30. The arrests were the at a rally in support of comprehensive immigration reform and meant to highlight the House's inaction. In fact that is a cause that the organizers of the so-called DREAM30 oppose. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not to your own facts.

We applaud genuine immigration reform activists who are in support of the recently passed Senate comprehensive legal immigration reform. We know that if this bill lands on Obama's desk -- he will sign it. We also want to thank those Congressmen who got arrested to make a statement with regard to how important it is to fix the clearly broken immigration system.
