Protest Scheduled of Gothic Theatre If Ted Nugent Concert in Denver Continues -- Possible Boycott

Rudy Gonzales is the son of the legendary Chicano activist via Corky Gonzales of Denver.  Rudy has initiated calls and made it clear to Gothic Theatre that if they continue with the Ted Nugent concert on July 30, 2014, a boycott against the theatre will be initiated.  Ted Nugent made discriminatory remarks against the Native American community recently calling them "dirty vermin" and less than humans.

Chicanos, Latinos and Hispanics contribute massive economic buying power and Colorado is listed as top 10 states with billions of dollars feeding local businesses and corporations.  The ten states with the largest Hispanic markets, in order, are California ($253 billion), Texas ($175 billion), Florida ($101 billion), New York ($76 billion), Illinois ($43 billion), New Jersey ($37 billion), Arizona ($31 billion), Colorado ($21 billion), New Mexico ($18 billion), and Georgia ($15 billion).  In fact, according to immigration policy: "Immigrants, Latinos, and Asians account for large and growing shares of the economy and electorate in the swing state of Colorado. Nearly 1 in 10 Coloradans is an immigrant (foreign-born), and 1 in 5 is Latino. More than one-third of immigrants in Colorado are naturalized U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote. “New Americans”—immigrants and the children of immigrants—account for 5.9% of all registered voters in the state. Moreover, Latinos and Asians (both foreign-born and native-born) wield $28.4 billion in consumer purchasing power. At last count, businesses owned by Latinos and Asians had sales and receipts of $10 billion and employed more than 65,000 people. Immigrant, Latino, and Asian workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs are integral to Colorado’s economy and tax base—and they are an electoral force with which every politician must reckon.

We have received notification Denver area residents have already planned a protest at Gothic Theatre against Ted Nugent appearing in Denver.

Here are the details:

Protest Ted Nugent Concert @ Denver's Gothic Theater

Everyone has heard the Racist comments made by Ted Nugent referring to Native Americans as " unclean vermin" including many other racist and hate-filled remarks. The racist remarks most often cited are jabs at President Obama which include calling him a "subhuman mongrel" and a "chimpanzee." But Nugent's racially-insensitive behavior extends to Native Americans as well. He frequently wears a feather headdress on stage and appropriates a sacred Native symbol in his song "Great White Buffalo," both of which are highly disrespectful to Native culture.
