Yesterday while in North Carolina, Donald Trump initiated a call to ban all Muslims from the United States. Though late in the game, Republicans are finally speaking out against Trump. House Speaker Paul Ryan condemned Donald Trump's Muslim comments quickly and said: “"Freedom of religion is a fundamental constitutional principle...This is not conservatism what was proposed yesterday, is not what this party stands for and more importantly it's not what this country stands for.”
Because Chicanos/Latinos and Hispanics are the fastest growing demographic in this Nation, let’s not forget how the GOP leaders said little come November 2016 election day when Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump referred to Mexicans as rapists and murderers. The Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is responsible for their low diversity outreach and we look forward to the Party of Responsibility reaping what they sow come election day. Reince turned a blind eye to hate rhetoric that sent a signal trickling downward throughout the GOP ranks that essentially said hate against other ethnic groups and religious organizations is okay.

A Pro Life Call To Help 6 month Baby Miraculously Delivered By C-Section
By DeeDee Garcia Blase
We were the first to report the story in English of an undocumented pregnant Mexican woman who was beaten to death. There were news stories regarding the woman who was beaten to a pulp and hospitalized, but few people knew she died until surviving members of Paola Delgado-Polanco were asking for financial help to bring the body back to Mexico and to help the miracle baby (delivered by c-section) who is in critical condition right now.
I wonder, and my gut instinct tells me that anti-immigrant sentiment and the dehumanization of undocumented immigrants played a role in nonchalant reporting. After all, many of us hear and continue to hear time and time again public political officials refer to immigrants as pigs, cockroaches, cattle and so forth. In fact, some political officials have advocated shooting them.
As a former long life Republican, now proud independent -- nothing affected me quite like the dehumanizing term of "anchor baby" because I used to be a staunch pro life activist who volunteered my time to help the Arizona Right To Life and other pro life causes. Things took a turn when the Arizona Republican former Sen. Russell Pearce wanted to deny brown babies born in the U.S.A. their right to citizenship under the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution. The day the now ousted Senator Russell Pearce began attacks on our 14th Amendment / birthright citizenship in Arizona legislative hearings was the day Arizonans For Better Government filed recall papers. The day chosen to file recall paperwork was essentially a pro life symbol -- not just an economic immigrant one for me. There were 2 recall Russell Pearce Groups, but Arizonans For Better Government were the first.
Pro life leaders wanted me to put the pro life issue before my legal immigration reform activism, however, the story of Paola Delgado Polanco can give an example to pro life leaders of Catholic-leaning pro life organizations why legal immigration reform is important. Reports show that undocumented immigrant women fear reporting her abuser for fear of getting deported. In other words, pro life organizations must support additional means, too, for undocumented immigrant mothers to feel safe in reporting a domestic abuser without fear in order for them to be strong for their babies, too.
According to the UK Guardian:
A pregnant woman who was beaten to death by her boyfriend who assaulted with a baseball bat has died, but not before giving birth to a baby girl.
Police say 21-year-old Paola Delgado-Polanco, who was originally from Mexico, was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning after being violently assaulted at her trailer park home in Delaware.
Miss Polanco was found by paramedics and died just hours later from her injuries.
Before she died, she gave birth to a baby girl who was born three months premature.
The newborn is listed in critical but stable condition at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
...
Paola's family in Puente de Camotlan in Mexico are hoping that people may be able to donate to help bring her body back to her home country.
They have set up a page which they also hope will help to raise some funds to help care for her newborn baby girl which the family will now look after.
We implore pro life leaders to help us help the 6 month preemie baby alive. The baby is in critical condition, and the family needs help and prayers.
The family writes:
(ENGLISH)
Paola Eden Delagado Polanco was a young thriving girl and full of life, with charming simplicity and humility. She died October 29 at her 21 years as a victim of domestic violence caused by her boyfriend in Bear, Delaware. Paola was six months pregnant, and by a miracle the baby survived. God has plans for all of us and Paola is now in the kingdom of heaven with our Heavenly Father. She was beautiful, but her inner beauty was far more radiant than her physical attractiveness. We urge support for funeral expenses and to send her body to rest in her home town of Puente de Camotlan Nayarit, Mexico. We also ask for your help in the expenses for her premature baby girl who has a long journey ahead of her. Thank you and may God bless you .

Brown lives matter, and I hope pro life organizations get a better understanding why we must protect undocumented mothers first with our continued legal immigration reform advocacy. This dilemma is sort of like the "chicken before laying the egg" thing.
Chicanos and American Latino Voters will VOTE despite the “Tea” DREAMers who are advocating for a boycott of the vote. These TeaDREAMers have not been transparent when they did not reveal they were working for and with Tea Party Republicans.

Susan B. Anthony Would Never Promote "Boycott The Vote"
A Lesson For TeaDREAMers
By DeeDee Garcia Blase

Women, we might as well be dogs baying the moon as petitioners without the right to vote! - Susan B. Anthony
It is embarrassing for me to see the naive and politically under-educated TeaDREAMers promote a thinly veiled threat to boycott the vote that essentially affects millions of people living in the shadows of society when so many women, Civil Rights and Chicano Movement leaders fought for our right to vote. Particularly when pioneers like Susan B. Anthony along with 14 other women were charged and arrested for voting. It is even more embarrassing to discover how TeaDREAMers sold out in order to benefit themselves financially via "legal coyote" operations. Ultimately, the joke ends up backfiring on the TeaDREAMer because politicians already know they cannot vote anyway.
A border reporter shared a concern with me last year when we were discussing DREAMers who are on record for supporting the hijacking of the immigration rights movement. It struck a nerve with me but I tried to remain optimistic. The journalist told me she felt that it may have been a good idea for it to take 13 years for an immigrant to earn his/her citizenship after the other hurdles have been cleared in light of their naivete. I responded by saying citizenship ought to take place before the baby boomer Social Security benefits exhaust 100% of our federal tax revenues. I do not believe in going down the slippery slope of "taxation without representation" ideas and we know undocumented immigrants pay taxes.
Was the border reporter half right?
Obviously we want to ensure our American values are preserved. We want to continue to show progress and move forward -- not go backwards. But the unsophisticated methods used by these "Tea DREAMers" are not helping me alleviate the concerns my journalism friend had.
During frustrating times like these, proud Americans must go back to the basics of our American ideals that have shown us progress. I am an American first, but I am not ashamed of my Mexican heritage either. That said, I am also a woman who recognizes how much longer it took for women to become voters in our Nation. On Election Day in 1920, millions of American women exercised their right to vote for the first time. For almost 100 years, women (and men) had been fighting to win that right. It has been discouraging to see people with financial self interests attempt to derail the immigration rights movement, and now the upcoming voting process, but I have no other choice but to rely on American history that still provides me with the shred of hope I need to rely on in order to carry on. I have to tell myself that the women's rights movement also suffered set backs and derailments, albeit never to the degree we see within the immigrant rights movement. Even though women disagreed within the women's rights movement, at least each was committed to the enfranchisement of all American women.
So what happened?
Did naivete play a hand with regard to the TeaDREAMers who were influenced by Republicans who wish to see undocumented immigrants remain disenfranchised? These same TeaDREAmers quickly learned how they were duped when Florida Sen. Marco Rubio wanted to end DACA.
The TeaDREAMers who are supported and have been co-opted by Tea Party Republicans and Libertarians have revealed themselves as not being committed to enfranchisement of undocumented immigrants who wish to become proud citizens of our Nation. As such, I am willing to concede a little and reconsider the lengthy 13 years it will take for the "TeaDREAMer" immigrant to earn his/her citizenship in the legal immigration reform bill passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate over a year ago. Perhaps the border reporter was on to something as it relates to the naive TeaDREAMers who have been duped, and 13 years may give them time to mature and reflect upon what it took in order for American women, and other minority groups to see progress during suffrage movements.
Boycotting the vote is a moronic idea and clearly unAmerican. It is my prayer for American voters to overcome voter apathy and consider being a voice for those who have no voice by casting their votes for more immigrant-friendly politicians in the races involving the U.S. House of Representatives. The House of Representatives led by Republicans have done nothing to advance the immigration reform bill even though the bill was passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate over one year ago.
I am not an immigrant. I am an American-born woman who understands my indigenous roots long before the Mayflower landed on Plymouth Rock. And even though advocating for the immigrant rights movement will not affect whether I remain in our Nation or not, I continue to promote voting and legal immigration reform to help my fellow mankind. I consider Claudia Longo, a TNTweeter and dynamic undocumented woman who is committed to enfranchisement of undocumented citizens who continue to make positive contributions to our society (see below). As an American voter I choose to demonstrate my patriotism by casting my vote for her come Election Day on November 4, 2014, because she is a voice from the 11 million who cannot vote (and does not limit her advocacy to just the DREAM Act).
I think the time has come to speak for those who are here and dream of being American. Those here who are proud of the country that opened their arms and gave them a second chance. It’s time to fight for full rights not just a temporary relief that will keep us, still, as second class citizens and continue to keep us in fear because it could be revoked at anytime. I and we … the other millions of undocumented people would like to see the advocates who say they care for us and fight for our cause and humane treatment to listen to our voice and fight for comprehensive immigration reform. We don’t have time for half measures. -- Claudia Longo
Finally, if undocumented immigrants are given a piece meal option that does not put them on a path to citizenship, I will look back at the TeaDREAMers, their supporters and those who worked to help anti-immigrant Tea Party Republicans and blame them. They supported the Tea Party Republicans who do not support DACA to begin with and wish to see the undocumented pay taxes without representation and remain as second class citizens.

Somos Independents is a national independent voter group who endorsed candidate Greg Orman for Senate, and we are glad to hear these wonderful breaking news regarding Kris Kobach (FAIR'S legal arm extension) and the U.S. Senate Race:
Ruling a blow to Roberts in Kansas

The Kansas Supreme Court sided Thursday with Democrats attempting to remove their candidate from the ballot in Kansas’s razor-tight Senate race, a blow to incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts’ reelection prospects.
The withdrawal of the Democratic nominee in the race, Chad Taylor, clears a path for independent Greg Orman to challenge Roberts one-on-one. Polls show Orman leading in the contest in a head-to-head matchup.
We congratulate independent candidate Orman's success with being ahead in the political polls particularly since Sen. Pat Roberts was one of only 32 senators who voted against the Farm Bill, which luckily for Kansas, passed easily without his help. Roberts later then tried to take credit for something he voted against.
There are 65,531 farms in Kansas that sell approximately $14.4 billion in agricultural products. Noncitizen farmworkers accounted for 16% of all farmworkers in Kansas between 2007 and 2011. According to one study, in 2020 an expanded temporary worker program – like the one provided by the Senate bill – would mean 757 new jobs for U.S. citizens and immigrants (including jobs not only in agriculture, but also retail trade, construction, and other sectors) in Kansas, and increase Kansas’s real personal income by $46million in 2012 dollars.
Therefore, we are signaling to key swing independent registered moderate voters to consider independent candidate Greg Orman who is running for Kansas United States Senate. We believe Orman is setting a new standard in the political arena as more and more Americans become independent registered voters in light of partisanship and bickering. We encourage business owners and farmers to vote their pocket book in order to secure Kansas' future.

El Paso has the ability to turn around Texas statewide elections with the mere Chicano / Latino voting population. [Pay attention candidate Wendy Davis.] Data shows 33 percent of El Paso registered voters haven’t voted in almost a decade, and experts havediscussed solutions. According to the Board of Hispanic Caucus Chairs, "... The role of Hispanics and the Hispanic vote in Texas has become increasingly clear over the past decade. The growth of the Hispanic electorate in particular signals the growing need for political parties, candidates, and political pundits to consider the impact of this electorate on the shape of politics to come..."
El Paso has a serious history with regard to Chicano Movement history. In fact, the term Pachuco is said to have come from El Paso, Texas, where it moved westward, following the line of migration of Mexican railroad workers ("traqueros") into Los Angeles, where it developed further. It was the Pachuco Zoot Suit riots that became a turning point for Chicanos and Latinos. The riots began in Los Angeles, amidst a period of racial tensions between Anglo American servicemen stationed in Southern California and Los Angeles' Mexican-American population. Although Mexican-American men were over-represented in the military as a percentage of their population, many European-American servicemen resented the sight of Latinos socializing in clothing considered extravagant.
According to the Texas State Historical Association, El Paso is also the place where the first national conference regarding La Raza Unida meeting was held, and tremendous Chicano Power came from Texas ranging from La Raza Unida to the American GI Forum via Dr. Hector P. Garcia. More Mexican American / Chicano / Latino power will continue to come from El Paso particularly when we have witnessed Canadian-born and son of Cuban immigrant Republican Senator Ted Cruz use his authority to kick Mexican Americans and their families down.
On Sunday, September 28, 2014, we will encourage Chicano / Latino voters to vote on November 4, 2014 -- Election Day. We will remind the lowrider culture just how powerful our vote can be by giving them the facts with regard to our El Paso voting demographics. As such, we invite you to attend Lincoln Park Day -- a Chicano Art and Car Show where we will be directly asking the lowrider culture to participate in voting and the Cruise To The Polls.

Somos Independents is a national independent registered voter group led by American-born women of Mexican heritage. There are more women voters than male, and we know that Mexican American / Latinos are one of the fastest growing demographic in our Nation. We understand and support pro growth economic policies that have spared our Nation from bankruptcy. Independent registered voters become independents because we are tired of gridlock and extremism from both sides of the political spectrum and as such it makes sense for our organization to support Kansas Independent Candidate Greg Orman for United States Senate.
We congratulate independent candidate Orman's success with being ahead in the political polls particularly since Sen. Pat Roberts was one of only 32 senators who voted against the Farm Bill, which luckily for Kansas, passed easily without his help. It is a well known fact that many died for our right to vote, and we must not squander that away. Therefore, we believe in utilizing all creative measures necessary in order to overcome voter apathy within our community.
Cruise To The Polls is a national campaign encouraging Chicano and/or all other lowrider owners to remember election day on November 4, 2014. Somos Independents is an independent voter group led by American women of Mexican descent, and we are concentrating our efforts in the southwest leading up to a national campaign via "Cruise To The Polls" that targets Chicano and lowrider owners to remember to vote on November 4, 2014, election day. The campaign will kick off on November 1, 2014, as several lowrider clubs will participate in a lowrider cruise in key high Chicano / Latino markets that will send a message with regard to how important our voting responsibility is. Often times, Tea Party Republicans make the mistake of lumping all brown people together and believe we should all go back to Mexico -- even though we were born here and indigenous to the United States long before the Mayflower landed near Plymouth Rock.
Cruise To The Polls creatively revives the Chicano movement and raises awareness to the expanding lowrider culture. It embraces Chicano art, music and more.
For lowrider car clubs who are interested in participating in Cruise To The Polls, please contact: (480) 200-3748.

"...Before we play I wanna thank you for letting God's own word ring true
He said you can't be trusted..."
Republican Speaker Boehner continues to stall and delay fixing the broken immigration system. He is in control of putting legal immigration reform up for vote but continues to put off his federal responsibility as a federal appointed official to fix the broken immigration system. Americans and key swing independent voters want legal immigration reform this year. Not next year as Speaker Boehner proposes. Speaker Boehner said immigration "could" happen next year. Who's he kidding? He is a tool using immigration as a political football. He's been putting legal immigration off since President Obama was re-elected in 2012 and after the Republican Party discovered they could never win a single future Presidential election cycle without the Hispanic vote, the woman vote and key swing independent vote. As a former 20 year Republican registered voter, I left the Party for good and voted for the first Democratic President via Obama in 2012.
Putting off legal immigration reform confirms to the American voter just how the Republican do-nothing House of Representatives are hell bent on stubborn grid lock views that rising independent voters are sick and tired of seeing in Washington D.C. Independent moderate voters were against the government shutdown Republican Speaker Boehner, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus was for. Shutting down the government does nothing for Americans, just as it does nothing to do nothing with regard to fixing the broken immigration system.
Here is what a recent poll dated July 2014 states:
On July 9th, the Partnership for a New American Economy, the Business Roundtable, and the National Association of Manufacturers released the findings of a national survey and 26 state surveys.
Findings include:
-
Voters across the country recognize the immigration system is broken: By a 12 to 1 ratio, voters believe the system is in need of fixing versus those who think the system is functioning the way it should. 86% of Republicans believe Congress should take action to fix the immigration system. 79% of Independents agree.
-
Voters overwhelmingly reject the argument that President’s unwillingness to enforce laws is grounds not to pass immigration reform: Nearly 3 out of 4 voters (72%) reject the argument that the Administration’s unwillingness to enforce laws is a reason for Congress not to act. 2 out of 3 Republicans reject this argument as well. That number increases to 69% among Independents.
-
Voters don’t want Washington to wait to fix the immigration system: 80% of voters want Congress to act this year, with nearly half calling it “very important” they act this year. In every region, at least 73% of voters believe it is either very or somewhat important that Congress act on immigration reform this year. 77% of Republicans say it is important that Congress act, while 53% say it is very important. 74% of Independents believe it is important for Congress to act this year.
-
Voters support the principles outlined by House leadership: More than 60% of voters support the basic immigration plan laid out in Speaker Boehner’s “immigration standards.” 54% of Republicans support an immigration reform plan that secures our borders, expands visas for high-skilled workers and farm workers, provides an employer verification program, allows young persons brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents an opportunity to earn citizenship, and provides visas to live and work here legally to undocumented immigrants without a criminal record who pay penalties and pay back taxes. Only 37% oppose. Among Independents, 62% support and only 26% oppose.
-
Voters support establishing a legal status for undocumented immigrants: 2 out of 3 voters support legal status for undocumented immigrants. A majority of Republicans (54%) support legal status.
-
Republicans want their next presidential candidate to support immigration reform: Republicans would rather vote for a presidential candidate in 2016 that is from a party that supports reform (71%) than one from a party that opposes it (15%).
