Key Swing Independent Women and Latino Voters Support Sen. Schumer's Discharge Petition on Immigration
Carlos Galindo, National Radio Show Host who has his thumb on national politics as well as the immigration issue brought up Sen. Schumer's idea of using a discharge petition to bring immigration reform to vote.
From the New York Times:
Schumer Offers Long-Shot Option to Skirt House G.O.P. on Immigration
Americans have waited over 7 long months since the Democratic-controlled Senate passed CIR, and admittedly I was not for supporting a discharge petition early on in 2013 of last year for immigration in hopes of healthy bipartisanship and statesmanship. Democrats were forced to introduce a discharge petition in October of last year as a result of the obstructionist Tea Party Republicans who wanted to shut down the government affecting services given to Veterans and millions of Americans. The House of Repuresentatives led by the GOP have proven themselves to be unstasteman-like, and we have no other option but to help millions who are living in the shadows of society even though they contribute billions to our federal, state and local tax coffers.
As such, key Independent voters like ourselves will step up efforts to Get Out The Vote in order to DUMP THE TEA within the GOP. Americans cannot continue to stand idly by with the do-nothing House of Representatives led by the Tea Party GOP.
Latina Voters Invoke the Todd Akin Card: Reince Priebus Should Tell Speaker Boehner He Won’t Get Penny From RNC For 2013 CIR Inaction
RNC Chair underestimates matriarch role within Hispanic voting community in 2013 regarding broken immigration system and the GOP’s inaction.
The Hispanic electorate favored President Obama by a stunning 3-1 ratio in the 2012 election, crediting Republicans like Sen. John McCain for helping push the immigration bill over the Senate finish line. Reince Priebus broke his silence on immigration almost 6 months ago, and at that rate it is no wonder why we didn’t catch Osama Bin Laden under President George W. Bush’s watch.
During the key Presidential election year in 2012, Reince Priebus said Todd Akin’s was not getting a penny from the RNC, even if the race is tied. But as we approach 2014 Elections, all Reince Priebus has to do with his claim in an effort to reach the burgeoning Hispanic electorate vote is to essentially tell Speaker Boehner the same thing he said of Todd Akin. The Republican National Committee leader would simply need to nudge Boehner in the right direction and tell him he won’t get a penny from the RNC, too, for his 2013 legal comprehensive immigration reform inaction. The 2013 inaction will be fresh in the minds of Hispanic and women voters come 2014 costing Republicans seats in competitive races thereby costing them the power there.
Despite the tea party obstructionist tactics, the Tea Party-led House of Representatives have lower ratings than President Obama. In fact, American women voters will remind Americans that the Taxed Enough Already (T.E.A.) Republican Representatives simply gave themselves extended Holiday breaks on the taxpayer’s dime when they gained the House majority. The House of Representatives do not deserve extended breaks considering there is much to be done.
I repeat, immigration is a federal matter, yet the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and Ohio Speaker Boehner are preventing progress in fixing the clearly broken system that is costing taxpayers millions of dollars. We have asked the Ohio GOP, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Representatives John Boehner, David Joyce and Bill Johnson to lead and fix issues that are important to women and Hispanic voters they claim to want to reach out to, and all have expressed no urgency to fix the broken system this year.
Earlier this year the RNC Chairman Priebus spoke of the GOP going ‘big and bold‘ but what Mexican American / Hispanic and women voters see is the “Party of No” in their attempt to make a black President look like he accomplished little with their blocks paving a way for the great white hope.
God help them. Maybe someday they will finally come to their knees and realize we are all human beings with different pigment skin color.
Latino Voters Begin 2013 Count Down: Will Ohio GOP Speaker Boehner Help Fix Broken Immigration Before Christmas Vacation?
House GOP Representatives like Speaker Boehner are preventing legal comprehensive immigration reform from taking place this year. Rep. Nancy Pelosi told Rep. John Boehner we have enough bipartisan Republican votes to pass immigration reform. The Democratic-controlled Senate passed a bipartisan immigration reform plan months ago, and the one man preventing this from being voted on this year is Speaker Boehner.
We remember too well when key competitive districts were won with the help of the Hispanic and Women Vote. A case in point is when Candidate Sharron Angle and the GOP thought they could win a race in a competitive district withOUT the Hispanic vote. We were glad to see her lose after demonizing Latinos with her racist ads.
No Immigration Vote in 2013 Spells Trouble for the GOP in 2014 regarding rising Hispanic voters. Hispanic Voters, Catholic Voters, Women Voters, Independent Voters are counting down to see if House Republicans will fix the Broken Immigration before going on their Christmas vacations.
House Republicans Should Fix Broken Immigration Before Going On Vacation
While the vast majority of blue collar workers work their fingers to the bone, Americans are getting screwed by those T.E.A. (taxed enough already) Party politicians. Republicans own the majority of the seats in the House of Representatives during 2013 and 2014. GOP House Speaker John Boehner is the 4th highest paid government official getting paid almost a quarter of a million dollars per year with our tax dollars. We do not believe it is acceptable for Republicans to decrease Congressional working days in November / December 2013 in light of Americans having to endure the government shutdown debacle, obstructionism, partisanship, infighting with regard to the Affordable Care Act, Syria, Iran, budget talks, immigration reform and etc. We have watched the GOP-led House of Representative polls sink, and we believe they do not deserve to go on extended vacation
breaks considering Americans pay over $75 million budget per year in order to fund 435 House of Representatives.
