In most of the southern states now, there’s legal hunting and they have tags, kind of like deer hunting season. Gators are predators. yes it could have just been left alone but you all also do not realize the current population of gators and what they are doing to the other wildlife n fish etc…y stretch it. Because crocodiles have salt glands inside their mouths they can stand sea water, while alligators cannot. I agree that these particularly large and obviously ancient animals should have been left to live on. For people who live in the swamps, many of them live off the swamp for both food and a way to make money whether it be logging, fishing, and/or hunting. In the mail, I explained the background of this image, that it is demeaning, horrible and also that it may have a historic background too. In 1990, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) reported that as a direct result of curtailing much of the illegal trade, the condition of most crocodilian species has improved. Behaviorally, crocodiles are more active and more aggressive than alligators, and also less resistant to cold (alligators are found in subtropical areas, crocodiles not).
