Voters Beware: Double Check Your Early Ballots! Time for Helen Purcell To Fire Printing Company

Independent voters are now the largest voting bloc in Arizona, and we believe it is time for Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell to fire the printing company who botched up approximately 1000 votes.  We do not know if those approximate 1000 votes are isolated in a particular district, and we believe Purcell should inform the voters who are affected.

According to Channel 3:

The problem is that the name and address on the envelopes do not match.

"If they were to complete that envelope and sign their name it would not match and I don't know how many people look at that closely," said Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell.

That could cost some residents their votes this year if they don't catch the mistake.

County election officials said the mistake occurred on a small number of ballots and they are working hard to fix it.

"We understand it is someplace in the neighborhood of a thousand out of a million three-hundred thousand that we mailed out last week," said Purcell.

Purcell said the printing company that made the mistake is trying to identify voters who received the botched ballots. Those voters will receive a substitute ballot, according to Purcell.

This is the second time this year the Maricopa County Elections Department has had to deal with a printing error.

There you have it Arizona voters.  DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BALLOTS!  Make your vote count!
